This piece is part of a new series I am working on called "Prophecy." I layered ruin symbols in gradients on top of each other to illustrate the process of spiritual growth and practice. If you look at the depth perception, you can see a foundation of lighter symbols behind the darker shapes, creating a presence of stability. I liken that to how one presents in life, foundationally supporting presence with inner work that is not always seen but felt by others and the self.

I created this image on 140-pound watercolor paper with Kuretake calligraphy paint and gouache.
