Many of us spend countless hours imagining what our life purpose may be and when the deliverance of a rich life will arrive. It’s a question I too ask myself when I feel lost or unsure of why I am here. It lasts for a short moment or sometimes a year... until I find myself facing another broken person. That’s when I instinctually know who and why I am. I know the pain of feeling broken and when I recognize that in another, my purpose returns. And I just know that I need to give someone my time. To listen. To encourage just a little bit each day, until a year later I see the same face smiling and the same person taking back his or her life. The purpose of life is not one grandiose notion, it’s the small actions we take each day, a pouring of love into an empty well, with the intent to leave it full.
