I took on a contract almost two and a half months ago that has been in a perpetual state of change since I began. I quit early a few days ago. The stress from the unstable environment wore me thin. Our leadership was disrespectful and unkind. My anger began to tip off with the slightest off remark. I learned that if a business group can’t find stability or great leadership, it’s guaranteed to fail. I don’t thrive in environments with high stress, I doubt many do, but what’s been interesting to watch is how I changed because of stress. I lost access to my light. I stopped writing and painting. I began eating more unhealthy foods. I got in more fights with my partner. My whole life went from balance to imbalance with one decision, inspired by my desire to make money. That was a high price.
And I am also learning this...business, whether it’s our own company or a job, doesn’t make us whole. We make us whole. We are all whole before we do anything. We are full of light and happiness, if we can access and truly embrace it. Everything we create or work for is just a thing we made from the light we already have and thus, it sits outside of ourselves as a secondary byproduct of what comes first, which is you and me, friends. ❤️
